Our favorite nonprofit content marketing tools to speed up your workflow

In terms of time and money, most nonprofit marketers have very little to work with. So when we encourage nonprofits to focus on content marketing, we recognize that those two concerns will be the first to come up. That’s why we look towards the most time-saving and least costly tools to help.

Below is a list of our favorites and links to learn more about their nonprofit offerings.

Our favorite sites for content marketing SEO research

SEMRush

The first aspect to consider when writing digital content is a question of SEO: What will help you show up in front of Google searchers?

SEMRush‘s basic function enables marketers to understand different search terms and better predict which ones will rank highly. That way, you can come up with blog topics based on their SEO value and the likelihood they’ll get readers to your site. If you don’t know what your potential readers are searching for it’s unlikely you will get in front of them.

The second aspect you want to consider is what current visitors come to your site for so you can keep them coming back, which is also something you can learn in SEMRush.

You can dive into how this works for free on SEMRush’s blog.

That’s what we at ArcStone primarily use it for, but if you want to get real savvy with it, we also use it to look into what other nonprofits are ranking for and how your campaigns are progressing.

Price: Free for the first few searches and once those run out $99.95 monthly

MOZ

Another option we’ve used is MOZ which has similar capabilities and is about the same price. However, they may have more extensive free tools which you can learn about on MOZ’s site and a 30-day Free Trial.

Price: As we mentioned, some aspects are free, but Pro version pricing starts at $99 monthly.

Awesome content marketing collaboration and workflow help

Trello

At ArcStone, we can’t get enough of Trello. And several of our clients can’t either, which is why we wrote a whole post on how to use it. What’s extra great about it is you can cater it to your nonprofit’s needs.

Price: Did we mention it’s free?

Brandpoint Hub

Google has got your content marketing needs covered

If you want to stick to affordable options, Google can essentially cover all your above needs. Access to their help center is pretty tricky and several of their tools require training, but it might be worth it if you’re on a tighter budget.

We write about all the ways Google helps nonprofits in, Google for Nonprofits.
